In contrast to the birth certificate [Geburtsurkunde] which only represents an excerpt from the birth register of a registry of births, deaths and marriage [Standesamt] and only shows the fundamental content of the entries, a copy from the birth register has the full wording of all entries contained in the birth register, such as all main entries which directly concern the birth, the remarks through which the final main entry is corrected, and the references which connect the different entries.

The reconciliation of the copy with the entries contained in the birth register must be authenticated.
